I HATE the new UI on your website. It hides my notes behind a stupid icon so I can't see them.

The ONLY reason I picked quickenonline service over any other was because of your nice UI.

Please RESET my account so I use the older table view that shows the notes just as I typed them.

Thank you.

If you hover over the icon, you can see the note.

But, split transactions are HERE!

It's great that split transactions are here, I'm glad to see that. The new UI isn't too bad, but I think what the poster above is trying to say is that it was really nice to be able to see the notes for each transaction, and not have them hidden behind an icon. Could you put in a setting to choose whether you want the icon, or the notes displayed, that would make a lot of us happy who liked the way the UI used to be in that regards.

    Thanks!

I don't know about you, but I download everything in to a spreadsheet and it run my own calculations on budgeting and what not because of the lack of capabilities from Quicken Online. When you downlaod instead of listing out the split transactions, it gives you a category of Multiple. This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!

Also the fact that you can't split the name out, just the category is going to drive me nuts. Now i've got to put notes in there for everything and then can't do anything with it.

so if someone gives me a check for a Live Nation ticket I would like to be able to balance out my Live Nation amount.

Agreed, I find having to hover over each note very annoying.

If you go to the trends page and download to .csv from there it will include the notes field in the file.

We looked at notes field usage before we made the change and it wasn't seeing significant usage so we decided to move it into the details section. Obviously that isn't working for some folks so we will take a look at changing it back.

GOOD!! I want to have the notes displayed and want them to download as well. The icon is useless when downloading...

I agree that each split you need to be able to apply a new description and change the date in case it crosses over months.

the flip side is that the new notes field has more room. I did not like how small the other field was.

Thanks for considering giving users a choice. The old interface's in-your-face Note field was essential for me - I enter a note for every transaction, allocating it either to me, my husband, or the both of us. This enables me to reconcile our finances at the end of the month.

With the old UI, I was able to immediately see which transactions required allocation, and I could quickly do so by tabbing through the fields at the same time as I was picking categories. The new UI forces me to take my hands off the keyboard and click on the Details tab, then the Note field, enter the note, and click Save.

On a side note, I discovered a bug: pressing "(" while entering a note in the Details panel will close the panel. Reopening the panel shows your note text is still there, but no note icon appears on the transaction list and your note will NOT be saved.

    New UI sucks! (SOLUTION)

I have a solution! If you use Firefox (and possibly Opera), I have written a Greasemonkey script which brings back the Notes column's text display. It's not perfect, but it lets you see a note summary for all your transactions, as it was in the previous release of Quicken Online.

You'll need to install the Greasemonkey extension in Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/748), restart Firefox, then install my script. (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/63207) After that, the transaction area (in the Transactions and Trends pages) will display notes.

This is a work in progress; the note display is only generated when the page first loads. After any sorting, editing, etc. the summary disappears. Just refresh the page to redisplay note summaries.
