The video tutorial for Quicken online says "this is a continuum of quicken desktop" but on quicken we have the choice of creating accounts without being linked to a financial institution. By allowing us to do the same on quicken online, you would open up the product to the world instead of just the US market. Let us reconcile manually if we choose to, so what if we don't have the exact amount as the financial institution?, but at least you would truly have a worldwide web app.
Please consider adding this option upon creation of the user in quicken online. That would open the doors to the rest of the world. Just like when we install Quicken desktop in a computer on the other side of the world, where the financial institutions are not on your list.
So we end up adding it without being linked. Thanks.

This is also a problem when you have accounts with financial institutions that are not on your list, as well as loans etc with non- financial institutions. I would still like to track these accounts, but I am unable to. So I still have to log into several other websites, and keep track of some accounts on paper.

It appears that you cannot use this product at all if it doesn't recognize your bank. That is the first step in setting up and if you can't do that, there is no second step - you just have to go away until it adds your bank. I'm with a small credit union (that you couldn't drag me away from) so I cannot use this product until some time later.
