Direct Deposited savings and 401K, Categorize as "savings" or "transfer in"

I Cant seem to figure out if I should categorize my direct deposits from my paycheck that go into a savvings account and a 401k investment as "transfer in" or "savings". If i do "transfer in" or "paycheck" then it doesn't show up in the savings trend, if i chose "savings" then it doesn't show up in income! Help!
