Date Range Inaccuracies

I changed the date range in the transactions of one of my accounts from Oct 6th - Oct 8th. All the items dated Oct 6th were dimmed with an asterick that said "Not counted in Spent because the transaction is outside the dates shown."
First question: Why are they "not counted" - they *are* in the date range specified.
Second Observation: When I added up the transactions, they actually *were* counted.
Inaccuracies like this really don't allow me to depend on this product the way I'd like to.
