Abstract (Document Summary)

The accounts became available two years ago. Participants in consumer-driven health plans, which include the accounts, are becoming smarter shoppers by choosing lower-cost generic drugs or taking fewer trips to the emergency room for sore throats or other minor conditions, said Doug Kronenberg, chief strategy officer for Lumenos, which provides consumer-driven health plans for about 100 companies.
