Havent bought the Medical Expense Mgr yet, would like to if it accomodates more than just ONE "family" (up to 5 family members I understand) but can't find if it does anywhere in the sales pitch. In other words I would like to use it for more than just one account (or more than one family). Anyone know? Thanks
You'll probably want to keep the separate families in separate QMEM data files ... but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

THINK IT THRU! Have you explained your issue so that someone who knows nothing about you, or YOUR Quicken setup, can understand what your issue is? Are you using standard Quicken terminology, particularly with respect to FILES, ACCOUNTS and CATEGORIES?

I'm not sure where you got the "5" number from, but this is certainly false. I don't know if there is an actual limit, but I have a test file with 11 people in it.

You can have different files just as you can have different filesets with Quicken. Whether or not you want to do this depends on which people are associated with which insurance plans and with which tax returns.
Describe what you are trying to do, and we may be able to provide more help. Additionally, QMEM comes with the same money-back guarantee that Quicken does, so you can just try it for yourself and see if it works for what you want to do.
Sorry I've been away for a little bit... in answer to your question, you can certainly track different families in QMEM, in different data files as our alert forum members have recommended.
We have a number of people who are doing just that, managing their "own" medical expenses in one file (i.e. me and my spouse and our kids if any) and their parents' expenses in another (a file which might, in turn, be shared sometimes with my siblings who are also involved, and with whom my parents sometimes stay).
Make sense? Feel free to let us know more about what you're after. As you've seen, we've got a bang-up forum with helpful people -- we may all have different medical situations and different insurance, but we're all dealing with medical-expense issues in common.
