The install/upgrade worked fine, but it says it will only be available until 3/31.
If I buy a new PC - or my PC dies after that - how will I upgrade to 2.0
There needs to be an install available other than thru the interface of the program that I can put on disk if you are going to take this away after 3/31
Folks, just hang onto your original order information. If you need a copy for future reinstallation, you can request one from Customer Care, located here:

What happens if I don't have the original order information (i.e. it was given to me as a gift)? I would like to have an install file so that I can re-install version 2 if something ever happens to my computer.
I don't think that there is an install file saved on the hard drive...at least I have not found it. The download and install process is done all within the program (or is "sub" programs". In other words, it does not take you to a website where you download the installer and then manually install the update.
FWIW, when I contacted support, they did offer to send me a install CD.

That's correct SMax. The original Version 1 was a full program download and could be saved to a CD as an installation backup. The download of Version 2 was an update of Version 1 and not a full functioning copy of Version 2. This free download update for Version 1 users is valid through 3/31/2006 (today).
The solution for an installable copy of Version 2 is to request a CD from Quicken via Customer Care ... exactly what you did. ;-)
Quick clarification -- the download of V2 was a completely functioning version. If you had V1 on your computer, it replaced it (while backing up your data).
V2 download is no different from V2 on CD.

Bruce
P.S. As noted elsewhere, if you bought V1 or V2 via Quicken.com, you'll have downloadable V2 in your eStore account past 3/31.

Sorry, Quicken Bruce ... I didn't mean to imply that the downloaded Version 2 update was not a fully functioning Version 2. I was trying to confirm to SMax that the downloaded update was not in a form that could be saved to disc and reinstalled at a later time.
And thanks for the Quicken.com eStore reminder. Sometimes stuff slips from the minds of Medicare aged QMEM users... like me. :-)

Wayward
Wayward,
Actually it does look like the QMEM update function DOES download an install file. You just have to find it. I think that I have found it, but have not fully tested it yet (i.e. uninstall QMEM, reinstall v1 from the CD and then try the install file I found to see if it updates me to v2).
It is a moot point since they are sending me a install CD (got email confirmation of the order not long ago).
