Quicken Medical Expense Manager V2
Hi folks! Welcome, especially, to new owners of Quicken Medical Expense Manager version 2!

We've built a number of items to help you get started with MEM...

  1. There's a "Quick Reference Card" that you can print out, that will help with entering your first expense, understanding some basic medical terms and mapping your Explanation of Benefits to MEM.

To get to it, click your computer's "Start" button, then "Programs", then "Quicken Medical Expense Manager" to get to the folder, then "Quick Reference Guide". (It's in .pdf format, from Adobe Acrobat; you can download the free viewer here.)

  2. From within MEM, there's Help as well as in-depth product demonstration videos ("demos"), that show in detail how to use many of MEM's features.

Both are on the Help menu at the top.

  3. These forums are a great source of information! :)

Most of us have had to learn about understanding medical expenses on our own. Fortunately, many of the people in this forum are generous about sharing the knowledge they've developed, both about MEM and about medical expenses in general. Even though everybody's situation may be a little different, we're usually dealing with similar problems.

You can search for a topic, e.g. "tax", to see what has already been written about it. (You might want to make sure that you're searching only within MEM so you don't get Quicken answers.) If no one has answered your question, please post it! Chances are, someone here knows the answer... and others are wondering the same thing as you!

  4. And then there's www.quickenmedical.com, MEM's website.

You can "View the Product Demo", which is a little higher level than the in-product videos.

You can also See Key Tools in Action, to get some tips on using MEM to e.g. manage billing disputes, save time preparing your taxes, and keep track of your FSA.
And please let us know here how it's going for you! It's worth saying again -- there is a great group of people on these forums (even if I am biased), and we're all trying to get our medical expenses dealt with easily and properly, so we can go on with the rest of our lives.

(Existing MEM users, anything else that you've found helpful, for new users?)

Thanks, and regards, and welcome,

Bruce

P.S. A last quick note for new members of the forum. Please don't post your email address, or anything that would identify you or a specific doctor -- these forums are open to the public. I wrote some notes about this and other issues here.
