I scan all of my EOB's and medical records. If we could attach the scans to a record, then see there is an attachment in the calendar, or report this would be very helpful. I also scan my labs and since I have a chronic disease and waiting for transplant I have to be able to provide a lot of history to new physicians.

I would like to see this function too. My insurance company is going paperless with their EOB. We can view them online and download it as a pdf file. It would be nice to be able to attach the file to the claim in QMEM.

Aetna currently offers a "paperless" option tho we haven't chosen to go that route yet. I do submit OT, PT & ST claims via email directly to our company's Aetna. The therapists send invoices via email or I scan them and send as a .jpg.
If the next version has the ability to hold attachments it would be terrific - in a variety of formats.
Seems like the way of the future. Now if we can get more Dr offices to get online....

Yes I agree.....an ability to link scanned docs (TIFF, PDF) would be huge.
I suggest an ability to keep a log of all correspondance related to an expense...date field, reference number field, ability to attach a doc. Rference field is req'd for those that keep scanned docs in a doc managemnt system (like I do).

Lisa,
Like many others in the forum, I scan all of our EOBs and invoices from doctors. These are currently stored in Quicken but it would be much more helpful to store the EOBs and invoices in QMEM so all of the information is in one place.

Hey folks, a helpful MEM user told us how he's attaching scans in MEM now, after a fashion. It's a work-around but you may find it useful.
1. In the Expense Details window for an expense, click on <Dispute Letter>, then <Create Letter>...
Then, from e.g. Microsoft Word, Insert... Picture... From File... and insert the scanned image into the .rtf document. (You can also insert or cut-and-paste information from Word or Excel, for example.)
Important: save the document as something you'll be able to make sense of later -- probably some combination of the date of service, the patient, the doctor or service provider, and what kind of information it is. Also, save the document as *.rtf format.
<If you're wondering, this document is saved by default in the /My Documents/My Medical Manager folder, along with your MEM files.>
2. OK, now six months have gone by and you want to look at that document again...
In the Expense Details window for an expense, click on <Dispute Letter>, then <Browse>...
Here's the (small) challenge -- you have to find the right file, it's not automatic. (This is why it was important to name it properly earlier. The file is not "attached".)
(Also, this browse will only find .rtf files.)
Once you have found the file, click "Open", and then <Open Letter>, and... voila.
Thanks to Laurance D for sharing this with us! And thanks for Quicken Meg for flagging it. There has been some discussion (above) about whether this is worth the effort, but in any case, this is one way to get 'r done.
Regards,
Bruce
P.S. One more thought -- because these .rtf documents are saved outside MEM, they won't have any effect on MEM's loading/scrolling speed. Uh, we planned it this way! ;)
I scan all of my ...medical records. If we could attach the scans to a record, ... this would be very helpful. I also ...have to be able to provide a lot of history to new physicians.
So usefull in my finances. Wish it was available in Medical Expense Manager and Home Inventory Manager!!
