I am a new user to version 2. I have several expenses that repeat periodically (e.g. insurance premiums, chiropractic adjusments) for which I want to be able to "copy" details in from a previously entered expense. When I am in the expense log, there is a drop down menu labeled EDIT below the log that offers "cut expense," "copy expense," "paste expense," and "duplicate expense." I can't seem to make any of these options to work and I can't find anything about this topic in the help menu. Can anyone tell me how to enter an expense that is an exact duplicate except for the date of service without having to retype everything? Thanks in advance for any help.

Just as you have described...
When I am in the expense log, there is a
drop down menu labeled EDIT below the log that offers
"cut expense," "copy expense," "paste expense," and
"duplicate expense."
Click on "duplicate expense". The expense that you selected to do this to is duplicated exactly, including the date, directly after the original expense. The new expense is now set to allow changes, the cursor is already in the date field. Now, just change the date and click on "save" and you're done.

Be careful: the date of the payment (in the "My
payments & Co-pays") and the "expense status" are
also copied. This, to me, is annoying.
Remember to edit (or clear) those fields in the new
expense record so that you don't record the wrong
payment date or status!
Excellent point GTJill. After doing a Duplicate, it's necessary to go into Details and change the insurance and/or the patient payment date.
It is a little annoying but I don't know how it would be avoided. The Duplicate needs to either pickup the original payment dates or leave the payment dates blank. In either case, it's necessary to enter the Details and add the correct payment dates.

Good point!!
Here's a suggestion if you know you have to copy one expense multiple times (like physical therapy, for example):
Enter one expense with the details you know you want duplicated (this would perhaps be one that does not have any payment details entered, but maybe it does have medical comments you'd like the same on each)... then duplicate that expense however multiple times needed.
